An exploratory film into the mindset and beautiful expertise of Geoffrey Gersten. Highlighting his introduction into oil-painting, his thought process when beginning new works, and how every aspect of his life bleeds into the canvas through outside hobbies.

The film was shot over the span of a couple months to showcase the painstaking detail and precision that goes into taking a piece from beginning to end. Directed and shot by Silas Tolles, Silas’ vision was for the film to stylistically feel like one of Geoffrey’s canvases. Saturated with vibrant color, purposeful framing, and highlighting the parallels of an artistic life both inside and out of the studio through juxtaposed shots of paintbrushes and tennis rackets. Conveying that life isn’t as compartmentalized as we make it out to be. Everything is connected whether by intention or not.
